Weird City, State, Country Error/Problem in Search?

Sorry to be a pain with all the questions today....but I just noticed that when I went to my search area, options are still available in the drop downs that I deleted.

First let me explain as I made some modifications to States and Countries Templates and Database.

Since i'm only serving a local area:

I deleted every state and country from my database....I edited templates so the "Country" field now says "County" , and added the four counties my ads will serve in the "Country" database via the Admin panel.

I deleted every "State" in the database except for "New York", the only state I am focusing on. Made any or all changes to templates to reflect my databases.

Here is the odd thing.... I went to my search engine..... (see URL above)

City now has two options - Belmont and Malone ..... I've only registered a user with a city of Malone. I checked my user database....(since there is a Belmont close by) and no-one has signed up. (that was my first thought, maybe because a signup and placed an add.)

State option has - New York and North Carolina..... Checked my database w/phpmyadmin and still only shows New York. Also checked the admin area and all is good there.

County (aka Country) - Says only Franklin and United States of America...
checked my database with phpmyadmin and shows the four I added. Also checked via the admin area, all is good there.

Any ideas?????

Found it!

It came to me after my post to check the default admin info.

The admin lived in Belmont, North Carolina, and was non-US

Made changes and it's all fixed...whew.

Seems the search picks up users info and ads it as needed whether they made a post or not. Since the database was cleared of states and countries after 68Classifieds was set up, search appears to still use info from it's user database.

The whole premis behind the search system is to only show values in the search dropdowns that actually exist. This is determined by the ad owners registration data.

Doesnt make a lot of sense to have a dropdown with 50 states in it when you only have ads from 2 states for example. You could have users wasting a lot of time searching for nothing.
