Default Cannot Post using Internet Exployer

I am running v4.0.4 and I recently had a small bug repaired in my kernal/listings.php file to allow my SEO mods to work....since then I have noticed that when I am logged in with IE (Internet Exployer) if I try to post it tells me that NO PACKAGES ARE AVAILABLE....

....However, when logged in using Mozilla or other browsers the packages are indeed there and available to choose and post.

...I dont know if this is an INTERNET EXPLOYER error or what, because I have even copied the ORIGINAL kernel/listings.php file and tried to post and I STILL was unable to do this. Others are still able to post their ads as normal...its just when I am logged in I cannot...i thought perhaps my COMPUTER was blocked using IE as if I try to log under other usernames and i STILL was unable to post...it says NO PACKAGES ARE AVAILABLE....however if I sign in using Mozilla or another computer it is as normal showing ALL the packages available.

Not sure what is going on as this has never happened before.

I recently have installed the SEO mod and had the listings.php bug fixed.

I am still running v4.0.4

Does anyone know what could be causing this? Its only blocking my computer on IE.....does anyone know how to FIX this? I have cleaned cookies and everything! This is so annoying. I am very sad too.

Hi,

That really doesn't make any sense because the underlying php code is what gets the packages out and that is independent of a browser. Also the change I made was in no related to this section.

Can you try deleting all your cookies and cache and see if that makes a difference?

Default Thanks ERIC

Thanks for the reply...where do I delete my cache?
I deleted the templates_c file....and my internet cookies...and even restarted the computer a few times....

I didnt think that the modification/fix that you were kind to help with had anything to do with it, but i figured I would mention it just incase it did matter indeed matter and I just didnt know it.

....have u ever heard of IE doing this?
Perhaps I should uninstall and reinstall IE.

Is IS quite STRANGE though...I wondered if something was fix that I didnt know by the listings.php file because TWICE in the past I have gotten an email saying a LISTING WAS POSTED by ADMIn (yeah ME) and I didnt even post one! So when I click on the link and log into the Admin Panel there INDEED is a posting! Once it said, "Silly" in the title and "Silly" in the description....however if I click on the RECENT LISTINGS the Listing ID nor an Order actually SHOWS! I mean its literally not there....and once I had a few ads placed after it and it skipped the number.

For example: I got an email with order id 351
I click on the link in my email and log into the admin panel
The Listings has been blank...and NON ACTIVE
or
The Listings has been filled out...and NON ACTIVE
or
The Listing had another ad info inside it....

When I go to the Listings view in the admin panel that displays all the ads
It would NOT show an ad 351
and if other ads were placed it even skipped this number

353
352
350
349

So anyhow I am wonderinf if Internet Exployer has a bug in itself and perhaps they updated their browser so that is maybe why its not working with my script now. Like they fixed it or something. I usually log into my 68 system from my IE as I have a in there for it.

Sorry I didnt post about this before for people regarding the Admin Panel...I have looked before to see if anyone had fake postings or something...but never spent the time to explain like now.

I will uninstall IE and reinstall it and see if that helps.
I have checked the IE cookie section and everything is clear and default.

PS please tell me how to delete cache.

Hi cathouse911,

I was having similar problems with my site showing different results when using different browsers. Eric was right - deleting both the cache (called 'temporary internet files' in IE) and cookies solved the problem for me and my users.

In IE, Click Tools -> Internet Options
Under the 'General' tab, click 'Delete' in the 'Browsing History' section.

That should do it for you...

Regards,
Jim
