inserting extra field on place listing tpl

Hi I like my members to insert tags for their items.

So I want to add an extra field in one of the checkout template (step 3 tpl) where users can place tags separated by comma for their item.

Additionally I want my 68 search function be driven by only these tags.

How would I go about this? please help!

Now would it be easier to modify the title field and turn it into a tag field....then creation a new title field? If so I would like to do this.

I probably wouldn't use the title field but maybe try it with the short description field. Then just change it in the form to be a single line text field input.

Hi, I did it.

I just changed the display test for the from from short description to tags.

I made a text post listing with a few random text on the short description box.

ex: red yellow ipod

but when I search for it, it doesn't show up on the results.

Yes I actually found this as a bug after suggesting it. What version and edition are you using?

I did figure out an alternative way, it takes it a little bit more tweaking though.

First turn the description box into a tag text box for I think the search enging only fetch text from the title and description box.

and turn the short description into description box, and place that on the item listing page accordingly.

It works out great!
