Default Newbie help with new listing

Just installed 68 Classifieds. All going well but having trouble posting a new listing (as a test customer). After selecting step 1 category, I can go no further, I just get a bar with an option to change from purple to default template. In MS IE, I have changed to default and have lost all screen formatting and can't change back, so in Firefox I have logged back in but still can't proceed past stage one, just get that purple bar again. What am I doing wrong?

You have to have a category for the ad to be placed in.

Next you have to have an ad package defined which controls which category the ad can be placed in.

Yes I have 4 categories and one (free) ad package. I can add a listing as admin but not as a user.

Maybe your templates are messed up. Can you try reuploading the templates folder again?

Thanks yes that looks to be the problem, I see the original upload was only 99% complete, and it seems to be stumbling over uploading step2.tpl onwards in the templates folder, not sure what the problem is there, they seem to be going up there but very slowly. Hopefully when complete that will fix it.

Well unfortunately still no joy, same as before, as far as I can see all the files uploaded as the FTP client says complete, nothing left in the queue. The default template has no styling at all, just standard Times Roman, and step2 of the listing process is still blank. Any ideas?

You may want to submit a ticket with your ftp and admin login and we can take a look and see if we spot anything wrong.

The FTP transfers for the template folders seem to be timing out with socket errors and not uploading so I am not sure I have got all the files I need up there. I will try again tomorrow in case there are some network issues.

Problem resolved... Support checked some file sizes and uploaded some missing data. The .tpl file transfers had generated timeouts / socket errors. Also was losing all screen formatting as a result of having changed the template using the drop down list in the purple template footer. So I found out how to remove that option, and also located and deleted the IE cookie that 68 Classifieds placed and was preventing restoration of the purple template. All now seems OK.
