Need programmer for multi Language site

Hello,

I don�t have to much experience in programming but I can manage. I�m trying to translate the software in French but I encountered several problems.

I started with the 3.1.5 french.php file that I translate to date with the version 4.04.

By translating the site, I also translate the templates, products, and extra fields. But by translating the templates, products and extra fields in a different language, the files were not available in other language.

I made a copy of the site and rename each folder to /en and /fr. Now I don�t know how to append each other to have the same ads but with their appropriate language.

I believed that the site was build in basic to use several languages at the same time. It�s not the case. The software is build to use only one language at a time.

I am in research of a programmer who could help me to finalize this project. �I am ready to paid for his assistance.�

All I need. It�s a classified site in 2 different language French and English. The users would choose their language in the main menu. In their account, I need a field to choose their language and the site keep their setting. All the ads would be the same one but the interface would be in their language.

If you can help on this I aapreciate.

As you said in your other thread category names or any values like extra fields will be derived from admin input. These items are not multi lingual and are displayed "as entered" by the sites admin. With this in mind there is no easy way of doing this. Even if it could be done what about the ads themselves. It doesnt make a lot of sense to build a french website and display english ads and vice versa.

That's the problem in all the world. Language

If we can offer a minimum of translation at our customer, it would be well appreciated. Menu, agreement, products in their language for me it's the minimum.

But if it's to complicated we will be in english only.

We can quote to translate your site into French (this can be cheap or expensive depending upon how much work there is). Two of my team are French mother tongue and able to do it. Adverts - 3 choices - google translator - poor quality - manual translation (you could offer this to your advertiser as an additional service) or leave it as is. PM me if you are interested.

I dont think the problem is translation its making a site that displays extra fields and categories in both french and english and is user selectable.

We can translate from englsih to french without problem.

But on that site, like 68C when I chose a different language the categories are still in english.

They did'nt activated but it's available, built in the software. The problem with this software is the search module is very slow. They work on a new version since 3 months.
