Display New Listings On Hompage

Hello everyone,

I appreciate all the help I've been receiving. Hopefully as I get the hang of things, I'll be able to provide the same support to someone else.

Anyway, I was wondering if v4 automatically displays new listings on the main page, or do I have to add something to the code? If I have to add to the code, can someone please tell me what and where to add?

Hi again, I found this similar question but I don't understand what to do next. ..Newest Listing Featured on front Page?

Sorry if this is a "Duh" question, but I honestly don't know what to do with that plugin to achieve my goal. Meaning how do I enable it.

You should be able to add this to your template:
{new_listings number=4 cols=3 rows=4}

Oh thank you for the reply, but can you tell me which template?

I tried in the home.tpl right above the "Featured" code, and the layout.tpl in the "content" area but it just displays little tiny boxes. I told you I was a noob with this stuff.

Does your classified database currently have listings?

Hi, Yes...test ones that I created. One is featured and one is regular.

I tried the code...:

{new_listings number=8 table_attr='width="100%"' td_attr='valign="middle" align="left"' img_break="
"}

...that I found somewhere on the forum but the latest entered listing is always missing until a next listing gets entered (than the second newest listing shows top in the list but the latest never shows even if it is active)

Any solution for this bug/behaviour???

And another general question: Is there a list where I can see all the possible features (codes that can be used on the templates). It is very hard to search/browse all the forum threads to find out the possibilities (possible includes/codes) that 68C offers.

Put {debug} in your layout.tpl file. It'll give you all of the variables that are pulled on that page.

hmmm.... but that would mean I already have this variable in my template.

I am more looking for the variable that I COULD use (but don't know they exist!!)

I can't find any of the usable variables/plugins/features in the documentation and if a new user don't browse some of the forum threads they use half of the possible features because we dont know the are there

This is very frustrating!! What sense does a "Latest ads" module make if the "latest ad" is not shown?? Why shouldn't it be possible to see and show the latest ad from the database? Im not a programmer but to say "this is not possible" I don't think it is correct. Did ever someone try to solve this BUG??
