Suggestion: "Report Offensive Ad"

We can set a number that an ad automatically get removed from the listings and goes into a moderated queue for admin to check. And, we can set an option to send an email notification to admin.

For example, if we set the offensive report limit to 2, then when 2 persons report the ad, it get removed from the listings.

This feature is very important. And, it let the users help out admin in finding problematic ads such as sex, guns, liquor and warez which will get you banned from Adsense if you are using it and also to prevent items not allowed by your local laws. I am quite surprised that it isn't a feature.

What happens when a few people conspire just to report ads on someone that they don't like?

Just a thought.

That's why it goes to a moderation queue for us, the admin, to check.

The system can show the userid of the persons who report, so admin can make a judgement to restore the ad or delete it, or ban troublemakers.

This is basically the same as the "Report Bad Posts" in this vBulletin.

We can also track the IP address of users who report, so the same IP will only count as 1 report. We can choose to enable IP tracking or not. This is because some major ISP uses the same IP address for their broadband users. So you have many users with the same ip address at the same time. This feature is nice but not essential to this report offensive ad feature.

For example, if we set the limit to 2 reports.

- Any ad that get 1 report, admin will be notified and the ad will appear in admin panel for us to see. We need this because most of the times, you don't get many people reporting the same ad.

- And, any ad that get more than 2 bad reports will automatically get delisted and goes into a moderation queue.

There are more benefits than problems, as you usually have more genuine users who will flag out the problematic ads for you, than troublemakers who flag competitors' ads.

We had an ad reporting module for v3 that I haven't had a chance to convert to v4 yet. I assume this is what you are talking about.

Yes, I am referring to the feature that a user can click to report a bad ad.

Will this be in version 4?
