When a private message is sent via "contact the owner", is an email supposed to be sent to that member advising them of a message at www.yoursite.com?

Not currently but I do have this planned for beta2. If you have a second would you mind posted that as a bug?

Is there a way for an "unregistered" user/guest to contact the owner without registering and using the PM system?

Very good question. I believe I will have this revert to the original contact the owner email message. I don't see an easy way of allowing it if they are not registered.

Eric, do you plan on reverting back on beta3?

I noticed that beta2 contact the owner still using the private messaging system.

I think the private message would be great, maybe just display the email form to unregistered users.

I agree with John. I am all for the private messaging system, but the real question was how to have an unregistered guest contact the owner without actually registering. It would be nice to be able to utilize both systems.

Hmm I didn't realize that the "PM' system was going to replace the current contact system. I always envisioned the current contact system working exactly the same way it works in 3.1, only it would record the information sent through the contact forms and make it available in the recipient's PM inbox (as well as the sender's PM inbox if he happened to be registered & logged in).
