What version of 68 Classifieds are you running?
Example: V4.2.3 Designer

What template are you using?
Custom Theme

Please describe in detail the issue you are having:

After upgrading our classifieds system to 4.2.3 I noticed that some of our users are now subscribed to the newsletter. Also, every new registration automatically is subscribing them to the newsletter as well.

I went into the admin to uncheck the subuscription and it does not allow me to do this.

I have never had this set as an option from the admin, and I actually don't even know what it does...is this possibly a bug in the latest release?

Something must be wrong as it does not do this on my test system. The newsletter is unchecked in the admin panel fro registration settings and it does not show.

I double checked my admin and it is unchecked...as well, it does not show up on the registration form.

I also tried again to change a subscribed newsletter user to a non-subscribed newsletter user through the admin and it does not take after saving.

Try uploading our admin folder again. There may be corrupt files.

Just reuploaded the whole folder and no change was noticed.

I then checked and unchecked the newsletter option in the admin and saved. I then tried another dummy registration and that one didn't subscribe to the newsletter...we'll see if that continues.

I still cannot change the existing newsletter subscribers status via the admin panel.

If you are ok with phpadmin you could do it directly on the database - to reset those users. Do a backup if you intend plying with the database.

Ok...found something interesting.

Everytime I update one of the user profiles through the admin, it automatically subscribes them to the newsletter. At that point I cannot unsubscribe them.

I just tested the demo on this site and it is doing the same thing...a new bug I believe

I just posted this in the Bug Tracker
