Yes, Exactly, Very nice post by Aaron. 99.9% of web designers offer SEO services without or with a very little knowledge about SEO.

The funny thing that almost all of them put on their portfolio page something like this - �We are first in Google for keyword BlaaBloo�. But if you do a little keyword check you will see that nobody ever searched for BlaaBloo.

You can easily find that Webmaster have no clue about SEO by looking on their website Metatags. Especially I am laughing if I see Meta Tags like �revisit-after�

Another simple test is to type in web browser their URL in 3 different ways:

www.website.com
website.com
website.com/index.php

And if you see no redirections to a single URL than never order SEO form this webmaster.

That is why I posted a sticky here for beginners. The truth is this CONTENT, CONTENT, CONTENT - and make it unique (never duplicate other peoples copy).

We also supply .htaccess files for rewrites to deal with canonical problems that you mention although I think most search engines have got over that hurdle nowadays and just take one of these pages as representative of them all.
