Arrow does google notice and amend new title tag's

Hi there,

I submitted my site to google, yahoo etc.. ages ago, which now appear in the listings. However when I submitted my site the title tag with in the categories looked like this

mywebsitetitle.com >> category name >> sub-category name

Since then (thanks to mike) I have changed the title tag's to remove the website title name from the categories section to improve SEO ( i hope), so when you go in to the categories it just comes up

category name >> sub-category

So here's my question (at last)

I have now sent in a new sitemap to google, which should include the new title tag's, what I need to know is will the new title tag's be picked up because they still lead to the same categories as listed before (hope you know what I mean), and any idea how long before the old tag's are replaced by the new one's ???

Thank you

Jason

The indexing of your site will get updated eventually by the search engines. It is debatable whether submitting sitemaps are adhered to that much but there is no harm in doing so. There are various opinions about sitemap submission.

It could take days or even months. It depends upon how important the search engines think you site is and the pages they are looking at. One thing you can do to help in the process is get several good quality (in context) links to your site and some of its inner pages. Make sure you have the owners of those sites use title tags in those links which are pointing at your site.

In the form of

<a href="http://www.mydomain.com/" title="my site title">some more text</a>

If the search engines see a match, it is thought that they are more likely to accept a change has occured and update accordingly.
