Default Display Your Adverts On Other Web sites

Just wanted to put this forward.

Its probably the number one consideration in my mind - Marketing.

Many wisely choose to support their web sites with blogs and articles. This is great and but there is also another opportunity of even greater potential. To simply place your adverts on other peoples sites which link back to your site automatically. It means you do nothing really after setting it up and just let it run. This is what the major players are doing (I get a handful of requests to put their ads on sites I own each week) and it is not hard technically to do at all. The best way to show this is by example.

My French Property

What is actually happening here is that the adverts from the classifieds site (in this case two different ones) are being iframed very nicely into a blog without all the rubbish around them (thats the more difficult part) - they fit nicely into the design (seamless). This is not so hard to do and with the external listings module (sorry it is a punt from me), it becomes trivial to place any number of listings/combinations into any other site using a single line of code making a purpose built iframe:

HTML Code:
<iframe width="410" height="190" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://www.seymour-james.com/modules.php?mod=external&number=2&type=new&titleLength=40"></iframe>

Here I just chose 2 new listings but I could have said 5 featured ads from category X and owner Y. Its that flexible.

The point is that there are tons of opportunities to use some very basic tools out there to gain visibility and build traffic. Getting your ads more widely distributed is something really worth thinking about. With simple modules you can do this and control very finely what you wish to present.

Just to show how the finishing touches can be made for a real application which pulls the latest properties from two other 68 classifieds sites and displays them on a 3rd site. The goal being to drive visitors to either of the 2 target sites:
