Im not sure I am following you here. The "my account", by default, doesnt show up until you log in, why would it? It cant take you to your account unless it knows who you are and it wont know that until you have logged in. I recommend taking a look at the default layout.tpl. In the section that builds the navigation you will notice that certain sections are enclosed in an {if} evaluation where it checks to se if the user is logged in. If they are they are shown certain options, if not they are shown other options.
