Maffo's Banner Mod.

Hi guys,

Now Maffo is away for two weeks maybe you can help me with a little problem....

When you click on a banner to place on a selected page you go to step two
and you'll see the title of the page for examp. "Index page".

Now I have a problem with some pages where the title of the page is called
"Pages page" because of the link ../pages.php?page=X.

Is it possible to get a title with those pages?

Maybe we can use this thread for my problems / questions....
Because I have a few minor ones.....

1. When I enter a affiliatebanner I don't get any rotation anymore...
2. Do I need to select a package or is there another way for me to place a banner / affiliatebanner.
3. Is it possible to only show the memberships assigned to a specific location?
4. and of course the "pages page" question...

Let me know when you get back....so whe can sort this out and maybe get an update for the banner module...

I've got a problem with the index page now I've installed the updat v1.3.10.
The bannerplaces I've created don't show on the indexpage but they do on all the other pages.....
What could be the problem....?

Sorry about the wait but Ive been waiting to actually get round to doing this banner mod.

After looking at the features you requirel, I can only say that this mod would need a complete re-write.

For example, all banners have to be set via the correct page, not through the admin, thats the way I designed it. You could simply set yourself up a membership package, for a 1000 free banners, go through the checkout so there are 1000 ads are in your account and then simply delete that membership package so no other user can purchase this.

The Rotation problem can be fixed if you open the

modules/maffo_banner/mod_user.php

If you look at around line 80 you will see this code

{$rand=rand(1,$e);}

Change the $e for a 2

{$rand=rand(1,2);}

That will fix the rotation problem



It is not possible to assign certain memberships to certain areas, this would have further complicated the system even more.

The Pages Issue. When I first wrote this system I designed it so each actual page, not dynamic page could have a banner. So pages.php would be treat as a single page.

I decided to enhance the system by making category.php dynamic so you could have different banners for every category and subcategory.

The problem with giving this extra option is that it is now expected that all pages can be treat as dynamic.

My solution to this without having to rewrite the entire mod, is to put your own affiliate banners on the 'pages' page so your customers wont know the difference. There are still hundreds of advertising spaces for your customers.

I have absolutley no idea why this system would not work properly on 3.1.10

Maybe 68 could answer what changes they have made that would affect any modules.

The problem with the 1000 free banners is that when I activate them and then later delete the membership the 1000 free banners also go to "0".
Why is that?
