Post Modification: phpbb usershare

Quote:
This module plugs into 68 Classifieds and allows you to share users with phpBB. The phpBB usershare allows forum members to use the same login to enter the classifieds, and if they first register with 68 Classifieds it will automatically register them for your forums. phpBB and 68 Classifieds can be installed into the same database or into different databases at the same server.

I didn't think about posting here about the phpbb usershare.
I just want to say that it works great! Very easy to install!

I have also installed this and agree, very easy to install, great idea!

However, has anyone else run into this? I noticed that forum registered users were not being recognized in the 68c login. I knew I had tested everything and it worked fine at first. It looks like what happens is when someone registers in the phpbb forum, then logs in to 68c, the email address is not copied over (in fact, the only thing copied over is userid/passwd I think). So the first user works, then subsequent users fail. I think because the email address is blank and can't be duplicated in 68c. I confirmed this to be the case, because when I go in and add email address for the newly copied over user in 68c, subsequent logins in 68c copies over the phpbb registered user fine again.

Hope this all makes sense.

Thumbs down Not passing accounts

My installation went OK. And I edited the settings.php file. I assume I did not put in the right new data since it does not work in either direction. I know the "database username" and the "database password" are correct (for the phpbb database). I am not sure, however, that I have the "database name" and "database prefix" right.

My ISP appends my userID, followed by an underscore, to prefix each database created. I assume this is what goes in "database prefix". And therefore the "database name" would be the name without the prefix (and underscore).

Example: I create db yyy under my ISP userID xxx. db File is named xxx_yyy.

settings.php should receive:

(A)
database name = yyy
database username = xxx
database prefix = xxx_

or should it be:

(B)
database name = yyy
database username = xxx
database prefix = phpbb_

or

(C)
database name = xxx_yyy
database username = xxx
database prefix = phpbb_

I believe I have tried all permutations with and without the prefix.

Thanks in advance ..............

Unhappy

suzkaw seems to be absent from the board.

Does any one else want to take a stab at helping me troubleshoot this mod ?
