Eric wants to release a browser-based editor so, even if you still have to modify the template file to change the way featured ads are displayed, you can do it in one place.

Old School -
Most of the folks using 68 Classifieds are using phpadsnew for their banner ad manager. Their site is located at www.phpadsnew.com - We haven't tried incorporating a banner ad manager into 68 Classifieds because it's a great product - and free. We may embed something in the future.
