Default URGENT Paypal Checkout problem - sr.php related

Having just replaced our sr.php file with the updated version on the thanks.php thread here: http://www.68classifieds.com/forums/...ead.php?t=4969 we've come across a MASSIVE BUG.

The user experience seems fine now, whilst paying for a featured ad, cancelling at the paypal stage etc. etc.

However...

We're now getting emailed every 3 minutes with a 'New Order' echoing the featured order that's just been placed.

EVERY TIME we get an email, the featured advert is getting taken offline, and put back to 'Completed, Pending Approval'.

It's as if 68 isn't telling Paypal that the order's been received, and to stop sending it.

This is a live site, which we're paying for. Surely we're not the only people using paypal, so an immediate resolution is needed

Until this problem is resolved, I would just turn off manual listing review so that your customers' listings don't keep getting taken offline.

I need this problem resolved NOW as my featured listings keep disappearing!!

civ - thanks for the advice but why should I have to do that? I've paid for a script which simply doesn't work properly. It shouldn't be too much to ask for a working payment system!

be very cautious if you're releasing a v4 site with paypal.....

I can tell you that having 12 threads on the issue certainly wont get things resolved any faster and more likely just add confusion for everyone.

unfortunately there isn't a sr.php thread, the thanks.php thread was hijacked as is so often the case with forums.

Either way, am looking forward to a resolution

Tim,

Please bear in mind that this forum is NOT your official support for the product. Opening a support ticket is the official channel for support.

In addition, it also appears as though there are only two of you that seem to be affected. It seems to be working for everyone else including Suzkaw's testing he did because of your post.

Can someone with a working site please tell me... What does your customer see or where do they get redirected to when they process a Paypal payment (after clicking the continue button to return to your site)? I'm just curious what the page is supposed to say or look like. (The thanks.php?gateway=paypal page). I have been having nonstop errors after 2 days of testing, I would like to know what the customer sees without an error. Does it pull content from thanks.tpl?

Thanks

BTW Tim, the other thread wasn't hijacked. It's still on the same ongoing issue with the thanks.php and sr.php files, which are directly related to the Paypal payments issue. I want this resolved just as much as you do. I've posted the results of my testing in an effort to help resolve the issue.

Tim - When you find a script that doesn't have bugs please let me know. Until then, have some patience. Open up a ticket and support will look at it when their open.

Because it's Friday evening and it will save your customers (and you) some trouble until the issue is resolved next week.

This has happened to me once before. I believe if you cancel an order or a transaction too soon after it's been made it goes nuts for a day or two. After that paypal and the script stop communicating.
