Question looks promising

I am considering rolling out the dev version for a client here pretty soon, They are a Magazine in the LA area and have classifieds both online and in print. The current system they are using is hosted and nothing too special save 2 key features that I have not seen mention of in your product.

1. The ability to charge per word for classifieds. For instance someone places a classified ad themselves online their current system is set to allow the first 15 words for 40$ then it is set for 1 dollar per word afterwards. This ability would be most helpful in the transition but is not necessarily a requirement for purchase consideration.

2. The ability to export the Ads. the current system offers the capability to export ads to a variety of formats including InDesign's Tagged Text. This feature is important, in so far that at the end of the month the designer must 'dump' the classifieds from the website into the print edition. Granted the export system currently utilized by the current system is not perfect but it does give the designer a needed boost in getting the classifieds into print. If this feature is not available I will either:
a. have to report these out into a format I can just copy and paste using Crystal or
b. build this in myself if possible into the dev version. Which would assume I wouldn't run into a problem with the two encrypted files.

If Sales could elaborate on the above it would be appreciated.

Also is there WYSIWYG functionality built in or have any third parties developed this? How about HTML or short code input for entering classifieds? Their current system only has a simple input box which ends up shredding the formatting and requires 'nudging' the text to make it look as desired.

The Clients goals in moving away from their current hosted system are reduced operation cost, database control, reliable accounting, improved communication with clients(i.e auto response and invoicing), a coherent method of entering text into classifieds that does not require multiple edits for visual changes. Comments on these and the above mentioned topics would greatly help with our descision. They're ready to rock on this and i'm ready to get it off my plate.

Thanks
-mk

This is not something it currently supports. I have honestly not looked at how difficult it would be to integrate.

It doesn't support this out of the box either. However this should be fairly simple to build. If you can get a format you would need it in then just post in the modifications forum and I or some other user could try and help.

There is a wysiwyg editor integrated with the administration but not with the site front end. We are using TinyMCE http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/ and it is integrated by adding javascript. So it should be easy to add in.

If I didn't answer any questions or if you have any others please let me know.
