Unhappy Hosted site Not Up

www.sanpedro-classifieds.com should have been up hours ago. I got email saying "Depending on your name registrar's settings, your domain name should resolve in the next day or two" This is simply not the case. I am partner with Network Solutions. I setup another site on another server with another company and changed dns settings with Network Solutions last night. It took less than 1 hour for changes and for dns to resolve.

There is something messed up with Rack Space's Name Servers or with the way sanpedro-classifieds.com was or wasn't entered in to the Name Servers.. When I use tool to query NS.RACKSPACE.COM, it doesn't show any entry on it for the domain sanpedro-classifieds.com.

I sent e-mail regarding the above with no response. So far I am very unimpressed with response times, follow up and answering of emails.

Hi,

It is my fault. I set up the hosted edition but forgot to add your domain to Rackspace. I have just done this and it should resolve in the next hour.

As for support we are normally on top of it but have been behind from the holidays. Our normal office hours are Mon-Fri 9am - 5pm EST. Support given beyond that is sparatic and when we have time.

Smile It's working!

Thanks Eric

The site was up and working in less than 15 minutes. I'm going to have to get used to the EST. That means you are open from 6AM to 2PM on the West Coast. I usally don't get up and going till 11AM PST.

You need to understand that each and every web host uses a different DNS server to resolve DNS names. What happens when you change your DNS settings at network solutions is that they send out the new dns details so other DNS servers across the internet can update their records. How fast this is done depends on a lot of things and varies from web host to web host and by in large is totally out of their control.

Having said all of that, just because one of your sites propogates in an hour doesnt mean they all will.

Default new hosted site

i signed up for the hosted edition, i was wondering how long it takes before the account goes live; and can the account be created before a domain name is registered for it?

Hi,

It normally takes from a few hours up to 24. On the weekends it could be longer because it is a manually setup.

It would need a domain because of the way our hosted edition works.

I have also just emailed you. Sorry it wasn't done before.
