Lightbulb Feasability of Sub Pages

Hello everyone,

I'm wondering how difficult it would be to allow page hierarchy (parent and child pages like you can setup for categories). More specifically, I want to be able to create CSS drop down menus for pages but this would only be possible if the child pages were enclosed in another <ul>. I don't know the 68 Classifieds system very well but I'm thinking at the least there would need to be logic that determines whether or not a page is a child and if it is then wrap it in another <ul> under the parent <ul>. It would also require a new field in the admin in the pages screen to be able to assign a parent page.

Would this be a big modification? Has anyone else done anything like this? Can anyone provide some insight into this idea?

Thanks,
Jonah

Why not just build the menu for them manually and choose to NOT have them display in the 68C-generated menu (option at the bottom of the edit-page screen)?

Civ, thanks for the reply. This would definitely work but it would negate the benefits of having a dynamic website. If the client wants to add a page it will not show up in the navigation until either they, me or someone else edits the code to add the new menu item.

If you're not going to be adding any pages in the future no big deal. But if you are then this option poses the problem.

Any other ideas or suggestions anyone?

A client can't make pages anyway, so if the goal was based on having users make pages and assigning them to parent pages, then it wouldn't work anyway. Only an admin can make pages.
