I don't know ANY php.
i am a web designer. my client wants a classified site.
if i buy this, will i be able to set this up without help from a programmer?
how do i see from the demo, what it takes to customize my design?
and what version will i need if i am only selling 1 category of item, but want to customize it my design?

The only reason you should need to know php is if you wish to change the functionality of the website in any way. The entire design of the site resides within its own template folder which you can edit without knowing the slightest bit of php.

Maffo,
thanks
is there anywhere on the demo that shows you what you get when you purchase it?
do you get html files, php, and css files?

can i design a site and then implement 68 classifieds into my design?
or would i need to start with one of your templates and change the design?
how much can i change? the location of the nav?
the layout of the page? can i rewrite the html and css?

my client wants users to submit ads, but she wants to review and approve them before they get charged or posted live.
is this possible?

last question,
with the purchase of the designer version, it says 6 months free support. is that phone support?
thank you!
Tana

You get all the files that come with the script, but if you purchase the designer version you're limited to editing the html (tpl) and css files.

If you buy the developer version you can edit every file in the script except for 1, which you won't need to edit.

You can start fresh from a new template, but I'm sure you'll need to copy some code from the default template over to your new template.

As far as the design? Do you mean like the navigation in the header? You can change all of that.

Yup!

Yes, there is a setting in the administration that will allow you to do this.

I don't believe they have phone support. Your best bet for support is to post on the forums and we'll help you out. If there is a technical problem of some sort that we can't help you out with on the forums you'll have to submit a ticket and the 68 classifieds team will help you.

If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask us.

The ticket systems is the official support system with the forums being a backup. Keep in mind support is specifically for getting the classifieds up and running in an unmodified state.

Questions on how to modify your site does not fall under normal support. The simple reason is that the developers would end up spending all their time teaching people how to modify html/css/php/smarty that they would never be able to help clients with actual problems.

Having said that, the forums are a great place to get support when looking to modify your site. If you are already a designer with html/css skills modifying the templates shouldnt be much of a problem. There is a pretty lengthy tutorial I put together in the html, css and design help forum which should go a long way in helping you understand how the templates all fit together.
