Default Are Categories included in 68Classifieds?

I'm looking for a classified ads program that has Categories and sub-categories included, so I don't have to re-invent the wheel. I'm wanting to be able to edit them, add to them, or delete them, if needed.

1. Are categories and sub-categories included with or in 68Classifieds?

For example:

Automobiles
..Audi
..BMW
..Chevrolet
..Chrysler
..Ford
..<etc.>

Pets
..Dogs
....Afghans
....Chows
....Dachshunds
....<etc.>
..Cats
....Angora
....Calico
....Tabby
....<etc.>

Washing Machines
..GE
..Kenmore
..White Westinghouse
..<etc.>

2. If not, has anyone built an add-in with them in it?

Thanks for your input.

Only a couple included so you'd have to type them out yourself. However you can:

Add your own, edit/delete them, add custom packages to them, unlmited sub categories with the same options etc. etc.

All controlled by the admin panel

I wondered about that myself too, but unfortunately it does only have a few default categories.

What I did was to simply make my categories in a spreadsheet. I then exported them to a CSV text (unix line endings) and imported them into the database with PHPmyAdmin. It worked fine and was certainly faster than trying to create all of the categories individually in the admin.

I think that it doesn't include default categories, because so many use this solution for specific solutions. (IE: Horses, Cars, Motorcycles) Having the default with the standard categories would then cause the opposite issue for those sites, forcing them to have to delete all those unwanted categories. I could be wrong though.

I thought that a good alternative might be that they include a few CSV's with a built in upload feature in the admin. (IE: choose your category package file to upload)
