Default Ioncube Loaders

Im really interested in buying the developer script as i've been looking for a classifieds script for ages, and this one seems by far the best.

My only concern is that I don't know anything about Ioncube Loaders or how to install them.

I use a reseller account for all my websites so I don't want to move, and if they won't accept the programme... is there any alternative for me?

I looked at the PHP ino, and it had something about Zend, is that at all relative??? Could that be used instead??

Like i said, don't know anything about it so any help/advise really would make me buy this script.

Cheers all

The loaders come with the script and for most installs you don't need to do anything since they are set to load at runtime. However, on some installations a line needs to be installed in the php.ini file. Your host, if they are good with support, shouldn't have a problem adding this line for you.

There are some hosting options that allow the user to have their own php.ini file, but I just don't have the experience with these scenarios since my has always loaded at runtime.

Yes, I think this would be nice to test if you need to add the line to the php.ini file, before you buy the script.

I'll make something up and attach it here. If it doesn't work then you will need to add the line, which is pretty easy, I did this on my test server that I had installed on my home computer. However some hosting environments might require your host to add the line, which shouldn't be a problem, if their support is up to par.

It would be nice if others who have added this line or had their host do it to post here on the process, and any troubles they might have had, as well as ease and successes.

Okay, all the loaders can be found here:

http://www.ioncube.com/loaders.php

download and then upload the loader you need for your system, if you are unsure you can download the zip for "all platforms"

Then after uploading point your browser to:

www.yoursite.com/ioncube/ioncube-loader-helper.php

Be sure the loader is located in the ioncube folder, when I did this, by default the loaders are located in a sub folder. To find out which one you need, you can point your browser (after uploading) to:

www.yoursite.com/ioncube/ioncube-loader-helper.php?page=rtl-tester

Then be sure your loader is in the main ioncube folder (an example):

www.yoursite.com/ioncube/ioncube_loader_lin_4.4.so

The helper file is very helpful. It will tell you how to edit the php.ini file, point you to the right loader, where to download it, and etc. If you still need help, you can post here and we will try and resolve any issues you have.

Aaah... I didn't realise the most you would have to do is change the php.ini file, all the talk of downloading ioncube and uploading it etc. worried me

I'll wait for your little tester before I hassle the hosting company (I might not need to!)

Do you have any idea when it might be ready? Or if there's another way of me testing in the mean time??

Cheers

Yes, sorry I wanted to run through it again myself so I could detail the process better then I could from memory. The loaders come with the script so uploading them shouldn't be an issue, you'll just upload them with the rest of the files.

We posted at the same time, look above/below for the links to test with.

I dd the first part..uploaded and ran the url and got this:

An ionCube Loader file is required by PHP to read files encoded with the ionCube Encoder. This page will determine how you can install Loaders on this particular server.

An ionCube encoded file has been loaded successfully.
Encoded files should now function correctly.

If you have permission to edit the php.ini configuration file for this server you can increase performance by following the php.ini installation instructions.

If you have a problem with your PHP application, please contact the application provider.

Do I take it that's a good thing

Yes, this means that you shouldn't have any problems since the loaders will load at runtime. No need to edit the php.ini file.
