Nightmare with a capital F

Im just not a happy chappy.

Having being used to sending my backups to my old companys server, and having parted company with my old company, I needed a new way to store all of my work, contacts, emails etc.

Having had a good look round for a hard drive or a pen drive and seeing the prices were 5 times dearer, I thought what a good Idea it would be to have my mam bring over a nice storage device from the uk at a 5th of the cost.

Well she arrived, with my my new digital camera and my new storage device and I said, as soon as I get back home I will back up everything. What could possibly go wrong?

Well I live with a brazilian lad, a good lad as it happens and he has permission - solely to check his email - nothing more.

So when I get home, all relaxed after a well deserved break, I feel its time to turn on the pc and check the emails and get back to work. So on goes the pc.

I try again, get the same. I try again, get the same.

My hard drives bust? It was working fine last time, Ive never had a glitch before?

So I ask my friend "I dont know - it was working fine last time I used it" was his response.

So thinking quickly I told him that I was taking it to a specialist who could tell me exactly what happened. If my friend was lying to me I told him there would be severe consequences, so he decided to tell me the truth.

He searched the net for porn, managed to download a virus that wiped all 4 partitions of my hard drive. Everything gone. Work, contacts, music, photos, emails - everthing.

What can I say? Im up the creek without a paddle. I have jsut managed to get back online but you know how these things are, Im going to be in limbo for a while.

I have had emails and pms so just bear with me until im right.

Just a bit of advice, always do a backup before allowing a brasilian porn addict to use your pc.
