Default Moving from Designer to Developer?

Hi,

I was wondering if I purchase the developer version upgrade, do I get additional support and upgrades? If so, how long is the upgrades and support for?

Thanks.

Hi -
Unfortunately, the Developer version upgrade is only available to customers with a current support subscription. If the pricing structure were set up how you describe (i.e. receiving 6 months of support along with the upgrade purchase), you would be getting six months extra support and access to Developer files for $25 less than customers who step up and purchase the Developer version straight away. That would be unfair to the customers who chose to purchase the Developer version originally.

Thanks for your understanding.

Okay so for $125 I can upgrade from designer to developer but with no support? I am assuming that when I do upgrade I will be able to download the latest version of the developer package right?

I would like to be able to offer that to you but our customer download area isn't set up that way.

The six month access period a customer receives during the original purchase means six months access to support AND six months access to the download area. We don't associate dates with version numbers. We don't have a repository for outdated versions. We don't keep track of what customers had access to during their six months. Instead, the version available when a customer has access to downloads is the latest version.

I realize this isn't what you want to hear but much of our pricing/download/update policies are based on what's fair for everyone.

I have an option in my control panel to upgrade to the developer version for $125, all I was asking was if when purchasing the upgrade you would be able to get the latest version, and I think this is what you were saying.
