1. Can anyone provide links to live sites running 68 Classifieds where the number of ads and traffic is reasonably high? I've looked at some of the sample sites and some of those from forum members, but they all seem to be very small.
I've got to add my two cents here-

The number of listings you have, IMO, is completely independent of which script you choose. Sure, maybe the look of the layout or how easy it is for new customers to register plays a role in which script you choose but 68 Classifieds, as with any classifieds system is a tool with which you build your business or enhance an existing one.

Having a website that generates revenue is a business. Treat it as such and you should succeed.

What happens when the servers go down, or the founder gets hit by a bus, the business simply folds, or whatever?
Yes lets hope and pray that doesn't happen. Getting hit by a bus sounds very painful.

But as John said if for some reason we where to ever go out of business then we will open the script and let everyone have it. We are reasonable guys and have very strong ethics.

If our server goes down and we have had this mis fortune in the past then we do everything possible to get it back up and have every one happy. Just for this situation your license key is only checked once every 30 days that way their is very little chance our server is down at the exact second your license is being renewed.

I haven't been open too long, maybe 4 months, have only a handfull of listings. I seem to remember a site with several thousand ads but I never actually saw it. I'll leave that to Eric or somebody else.

2. Are there any sample sites where the "Seller Store" feature is actively being used?
I don't use it, but it adds a description and image within a page that contains a searchresults of the ad owner's listings.

3. Is there any facility in 68 Classifieds for making "honor payments"? That is, posting an ad is free, but then if the item sells the user can make a payment afterwards, and the number of payments and value are tracked.
There is not a system like this in place.

4. I understand the requirement for encrypted files and copyright protection, but even the biggest businesses don't last forever. What happens when the servers go down, or the founder gets hit by a bus, the business simply folds, or whatever?
Let's hope they don't befall any of those situations! They have stated in the past that if for some reason they go out of business or the unspeakable, that the full source would be made availible or that the licensing would be removed for customers.

A Few Pre-Sales Questions

Hello-

I'm interested in 68 Classifieds but have a few questions first.

1. Can anyone provide links to live sites running 68 Classifieds where the number of ads and traffic is reasonably high? I've looked at some of the sample sites and some of those from forum members, but they all seem to be very small.

2. Are there any sample sites where the "Seller Store" feature is actively being used?

3. Is there any facility in 68 Classifieds for making "honor payments"? That is, posting an ad is free, but then if the item sells the user can make a payment afterwards, and the number of payments and value are tracked.

4. I understand the requirement for encrypted files and copyright protection, but even the biggest businesses don't last forever. What happens when the servers go down, or the founder gets hit by a bus, the business simply folds, or whatever?
