I am a newbie to this and I need to know how many sites that phpadsnew can handle?
Do I need to install it on every website I have? Do I have to host all the sites and phpadsnew on the same server to make it handle multiple sites?
I am also checking adpeeps since it is getting a lot of good remarks on this forum. Should I just use it instead?
Thanks for the advice.

phpadsnew is a whole seperate software package available at http://phpadsnew.com/ to my knowledge there is no hard set limit on the ads or pages it can serve ads to.
Its very powerfull, full featured and free. You would install it just once and can use it on as many sites as you want. You will need to install the java code on all the pages you want ads to appear. In 68classifieds its usually done just once in the layout.tpl.php which is used for basically every page of the classifieds so inserting it once means it appears on every page.

No problem Larry.
We feel that banner ad systems such as phpadsnew are the best system to go with that way we can focus on just developing our classified system.
With phpadsnew it has javascript integration which can easily be plugged in to our template files.

I understand about breaking it down by states now..
I guess my main concern is the banner system or the lack of.
Its going to be enough work maintaining (patching & upgrading) the classifieds
system. Thanks for taking the time to discuss this with me!

There isn't a banner manager built in, but some of us user phpadsnew. As for the state classifieds, this can be done. You'd create state categories and then the subcategories for those states. Another way you could do this is create links that search for categories by state. The script is really flexible and you will be able to get help in the forum if you are having trouble.
Edit - victim to Larry again...

No banner ad system is built in. Many of us are using phpadsnew to handle banner ads.
Can you elaborate on what you mean by classifieds by state? You are in control of the categories so could create a top level category for each state and then subcategories below them.
