US Zip Code mod - search problem

The other day I had some problems getting my search function to search my listings rather than the users registration info. With help from Eric I was able to get running properly.

However, it appears I am having the same problem with the us zip code search mod. It is searching only the registration info, not the listing info.

For example, if you search zip code 34292 (within 5 miles) nothing comes up, even though we have a house listed in that zip code. However, if you search 34202 (within 5 miles) all our listings show up as that is where we are registered.

The zip code mode was designed to search the registration zip code field only if I am not mistaken so it makes sense that its not working with your extra zip code field. How would the module know which one of yours (or anyone elses for that matter) extra field is supposed to hold a zip code? And you dont want it searching all of the extra fields because there is a chance one of them could have a number in it that is the same as a zip code in the range searched for.

Im sure it can be modified to search one of your extra fields, but I dont have the module so you will have to wait for some direction from Eric on this one.

Ok, next problem...I now need to deactivate that zip code mod. I did so through my admin settings, but it still appears on the search page...it just doesn't work...now if you type in any zip code it just shows all our listings. I no longer want it to show up at all as a field to be searched on this page: RENTifieds

Do I have to delete it completely from my modules? I'd rather not in case I find some use for it later.

I dont have the mod so im not certain what all is involved in setting it up. Did it have you make any template changes? If so then you will have to remove anything it had you add to the templates.

I actually have a fix for the module to allow it work with extra fields. I would recommend to submit a ticket with this request and I can send you instructions.

Keep in mind it may be a few days before I can send a new version because of the holidays.
