Please find attached a French language file translated by Pascal.

To install just download the attachment. Unzip it. Then upload to the language folder on your site.

After that login to the administration and go to settings -> regional settings and select the file under Site Language.

the script does not seem to support accentuated letters

either as "�"
or "é"

both are displayed by a square on the website.

I have just tried this file and had no issues. Make sure you leave the encoding on the layout file to UTF-8.
