Default problems with categories urls

Has anybody implemented the SEO module and had this problem to solve with categories and toplistings? The only way I can explain efficiently is by example.

If I do this sequence O.K.

http://www.mydomain/c...aquitaine.html (category)

http://mydomain/c...rder/desc.html (sort)

http://mydomain/c...sc/page/2.html 5 (go to the next page - I get a nice url)

But this sequence does not work

http://mydomain/c...aquitaine.html (category)
http://mydomain/c...ne/page/2.html (go to the next page)

and then try to sort, this non-url appears

http://www.mydomain/c...sortorder=desc

Basically sorting has to be done initially before going to another page. I have tried to debug the showlistings file and think I can see where the problem arises. The $file in the second case seems to have already been made into a html file. Any ideas?

Problem solved pragmatically -

I couldn't resolve the issue of incorrect URLs being generated so I just took out the sorting and fixed it to always display with descending price or newest date as appropriate. For those with the SEO module you should check whether the sorting is working or not on category listings. For my application it is o.k to fix things but in general there is a small loss of flexibility.
