Post mod68ads: A Joomla!-Module for showing ads from 68C Classifieds

Description

mod68ads is a Joomla!-Module to display ads from the software 68C Classifieds on any module position. It has many setting parameters which allow you to define which ads should be displayed inside your Joomla! driven website.

Here is a list of some parameters:

Display of:
- Picture
- Ads title
- Date
- Price
- Username
- Category name

Include and exclude of:
- Categories
- Ads
- Usernames

Others:
- Define the number of ads to be displayed
- Display of featured ads only or any ads without featured ads
- Display of highlighted or bold ads
- Show ads with or without pictures only or any ads
- Activate or deactivate the link on the picture, title or username

Shorten the length of
- Title
- Username
- Category name

Layout of the ads
- horizontal
- vertical

There is a forum available for questions and support.

If you are runing Joomla! and 68C Classifieds - please give this module a try. :-)

Click here to view the full details.

If you have any questions please reply below, for support please use the support forum.

Here I use the module on a live site:
http://www.tiersuche.ch

The module is used twice there. Once it shows the featured ads (3 at the moment) in the left column, and second it shows one random ad at a time in the upper right box.
Please do not post test ads there, thank you.

I'm using the free basic version and it works like a charm, thank you Pat! I will definately be buying the Pro version.

One question, is it possible to have several instances of this mod running on a single Joomla site? In other words, if I have 68CMotors.com, 68CProperty.com and 68CJobs.com could I have ads pulled from these 3 different sites displayed on my Joomla Community site?

I posted this same question at Patricks official support forum and got a very speedy response. I'm pasting the relevant part of it here for future reference should any other 68C users find it helpful.

On a single Joomla! installation you can run multiple instances of the module, like any other module.

Go to the module manager and create a new module. If asked for the type of module, choose mod68ads.

After that, enter the proper settings of your second database (server, username etc.) and publish the module on the desired module position.

I did never try it, but it must work. Maybe you want to try this on the free version first.
Brilliant!

Thumbs up

This module really does work - faultlessly. I cannot recommend it highly enough if you want to promote your 68C business with a Joomla powered social networking site.
