Post Template Switcher

Description

This module will allow your visitors to select any of your predefined templates at the flick of a button. See the demo link to test this module out (located in the lower part of the sidebar). Works great with the pack of colours for the default template -

Default Ref: Issue with the template switcher

Seymour,
I wrote you a support ticket as well but thought I would pose a question here as well. I have template switcher and no matter what templates i say in admin are allowable all of them appear to users for some reason. It switches them fine but I am telling it NOT to show default for example and it does. Upon deleting what I dont want template wise (default) i notice your code relies on default and shoots errors without it being there.

Please advise.

ALL templates for 68C used a tiered approach. If a template is selected that templates directory is first checked for the template file in question and if it cant be found the one in the default folder is used. This is standard for ALL templates, including those supplied by 68C.

Personally I like having complete template file sets complete in each template directory so if I am using template OTHER than the default I copy over all the default files THAT DO NOT CURRENTLY EXIST into the template folder I am using. That way if I modify any of them I know that the modified file is the one in the template I am using and my default templates stay unmolested.

Understood and I guess I can simply add the directory and files to the templates I do want. However, the issue was that template switcher isnt allowing what it says it should. IE setting it to show only template xy &z is still showing all available templates. I was wondering how this could be sorted?

Thanks Larry.

This is one, if not the most important important aspect of how templates work in 68C . Now the template switcher works like this.

You set the fluid templates in the 68C admin control for the switcher module. You also set your main template to be one of the fluid templates.

A guest or registered user can only select a fluid template from the switcher. He cannot access the default. Cookies also monitor what template he has selected so if he comes back mater, he will arrive at the same color. The administrator can override this and chose any template whether it has been defined in the template switcher or not. If he selects a non-fluid template then to get back he has to clear the cookies and cache in his browser. If you think about it, this is logical.

The problem is you are logged in as an administrator so you see all the templates and if you select say the default template , you then need to clear the cache and cookies to get back to a fluid template. This is because you have no switcher in the default template.
