Default Problems installing v4.2.0 Developer

Hello,
I am having problems installing v4.2.0 Developer. I am using the default template. Each time I do a fresh install, I get this error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 385690112 bytes) in Unknown on line 0

This appears the moment the script is freshly installed without any categories created. It still appears after I create my first category.

I have uninstalled and installed this three time and still the same problem. I also did a fresh download of the script each time as well. The script seems to function fine, but this error shows up on all of the user and admin pages.

I was having some problems with my custom cat fields not showing the fields, even after I changed line 58 of plugins/function.get_extra_field.php

I don't know if these two problems are related. Any help I can get would be appreciated.

Does this produce any problems with no mods installed? Looks like your web server is set to limit script use to 256mb, which I would think is plenty.

Have you talked with your web hosting provider? I would think this issue would warrant talking with their tech support.

We all know that the 68 Classifieds script works without any issue of this nature as many have installed/upgraded this version of the software script, myself included. You've eliminated any corruption issue as you have re-installed as well as downloaded a new copy too.

In case someone runs into this in the future, this was an issue with my host, and not an issue with the script. If this happens to anyone else, contact your hosting provider.

Can you describe what the problem was your host was able to fix? In other words, what was the problem specifically?

I am also getting thrown this error, even tho' my host has the PHP memory limit set to 200M. Seems enough for any script.

You mean you get this error for a fresh installation of 4.2.0 or do you have a more recent version?

Fresh install of v4.2.3 Developer.

But I've had this problem intermittantly before.

I have seen this issue occur when a TC module has no been deactivated and then deleted (fields dropped) before uploading a new module and activating it. Are you using TC products. The solution if you are may be to drop the TC fields and reactivate. alternatively use the upgrade button against that module.

Usually when you get this kind of error it will give you more information like the file name and line number. Can you provide that?

Just copy and paste the error you get here.
