PHP 4 End of Life - Server Upgrade

Posted on August 19, 2008 by Eric Barnes

PHP has recently released v4.4.9 and that is going to be the last release of the PHP v4.x line. Our current server is still running on PHP 4 and we are planning on upgrading it on September 1st.

This means if you are hosted customer running any other scripts besides 68 Classifieds you need to make sure they will work with PHP 5. 68 Classifieds is designed to work with PHP 4.3 all the way through the latest PHP 5.x release. So you will not have to worry about our script continuing to work.

Hurray we are finally coming out of the dark age.

New Classifieds Industry Website

Posted on July 31, 2008 by Eric Barnes

The online classifieds industry can be very lucrative if you know the ropes. Until recently online classifieds website owners and managers were on there own trying to figure out what makes the industry tick and how to get a piece of the classifieds pie.

A team of classified website owners have banded together and formed an online community forum that is dedicated to the classifieds industry. Not only does it discuss day-to-day techniques but they also offer valuable ideas on marketing, HTML, graphic design, multimedia and search engine optimization all of which is part of running a successful classified ads website business.

Part of the classifieds industry website is a gallery of classifieds websites that users can get some ideas from. Our users are all professional and courteous and will go out of their way to help you says Brian Hussey the administrator of the site.

Brian has been involved in online communities for years and strives to help people, Brian is a problem solver and decided to launch the Classifieds Industry forum because there was nothing else out there to help people in the industry.

Classified script developers have their own forums that help their own customers with scripts and that’s great but what we wanted to offer is an extension of these communities and bring owners of sites together to share their knowledge in a global community. Brian goes on to say that once the word gets out the classifieds industry forum will be an awesome community that can help everyone in the industry become successful.

Spring Break Vacation

Posted on April 1, 2008 by Eric Barnes

First off happy April fools day. This is not a joke though. :)

This is an announcement to let everyone know our office will be closed April 3rd through the 6th. I will be going down to the coast and will have internet so I will still be able to check support but it will be only a few hours a day.

If you need immediate support it is best to ask on the forums as we have users from all over and usually someone will respond a lot faster.

I want to thank everyone for being a customer and have a happy spring break.
