Default Oodle and Edgeio?

Is anyone exporting their listings to Oodle and/or Edgeio? Both allow you to submit RSS feeds of your listings for inclusion in their database.

I have created a feed for Oodle and submitted it to them, but after 10 days or so my ads aren't showing up yet. Anyone know how long it takes for them to start picking them up?

I just found out about Edgeio recently, so before I go to the trouble of setting up a feed for them, I was wondering if anyone else has had any success with them or not.

Finally, if you are using either of these services, are you marketing that fact to your customers? If so, how?

Thanks,

Paul

I am currently building a feed for Ooodle, so I can't say for sure, but I would think that it would be available almost instantly. You mention that Oodle accepts RSS feeds, but I only see XML and delimited files. Perhaps that is the problem. They expect their feed in pure XML, not an RSS subset. If you aren't showing up, double check your feed to make sure it is well formed. If it checks out OK, then make sure there isn't a typo in a required tag.

Edgeio looks like they are more interested in developing a syndicated network of classifieds, with them being the back end, rather than taking feeds from other sites. I probably won't go that route.

Thanks for the response. I did finally hear back from Oodle... they say they have been backlogged but that my feed has now been added and my ads should show up in their system within 48 hours. So in all, apparently it currently takes about two weeks to get in there. And you are correct... I should not have used the term "RSS", my feed is indeed plain XML.

Edgeio does take feeds from other sites under their "Edge Direct" program:

http://wiki.edgeio.com/display/Exter...i/edge-direct/

The format is different, but shouldn't be too hard to adapt. They claim that once submitted, your ads will appear within 12 hours. Can't hurt to try it I guess.

Thanks for the info. Very good to know. I didn't mean to imply that Edgeio didn't take feeds, it just looks to me like they may be shifting their focus. Dont know for sure, just what I read "between the lines".

Thanks again.
