New Set of Maffo Websites

Well as some of you may or may not know, I parted company with my old firm and have decided to go solo.

My aim is to write mods for this program 68 classifieds and hopefully also get some freelance work, ideally from this website.

As you can see from my new signature, I have a few websites in construction. Fortunatley everything is working although design etc is still to come.

My main website which as of yet has no homepage is http://maffo.co.uk. With this site I will try and attract some work.

If you click on the links below you can see I have setup a 68 classifieds demo site on my server where you can see the mods working. Currently there are two, my news mod and my brand new banner mod. I will make a proper post seperatley regarding that but please feel free to test it out on the demo site where you can even upload your own company logo to see how it all works.

I have also installed and configured a shopping cart system for this so it is fully operational but havent as of yet set the design.

Within the next couple of weeks I will also be launching a forum called search-engine-master.co.uk, a site which will be focused on experimenting with search engine rankings. The aim of this is to get businesses using my business directory - List43 which in turn will get people using my classifieds - Sell 43.

So really Im just explainin my new signature so if you wish to have a look around, feel free and I will be updating everything as of now!

Also have a couple of things I need, one is the maffo multisite coding, the other is ads in multiple categories, and I suspect others would be interested as well if you could work something on those.

Eric, there is a very popular programme in the UK called Only Fools and Horses, probably the most successful ever in the country. Its a programme of two brothers, Delboy, a market stall trader is desperate to be a millionaire. If you are fan of british comedy then you need the DVDs

Calaf, the difference between the old banner mod and the new banner mod is basically a hell of a lot.

The old one was a system that worked. It was not clean, it has a lot of holes and floors in it, the admin was shoddy and unless you knew exactly what you were doing with it, there were ways of causing a errors on your site.

The new version now has the ability to use animated gifs and flash, the entire checkout system has been changed, there is a renewal system that works with memberships, reports, the ability to move banners to other pages etc. Its is far far superior to its older brother. Its a mod Im very proud which has endless possibilities. Believe me, months of work have gone into this mod.

Im not too sure on multi-categories, I havent looked at that one, I guess its a question of time to make, compared with how many people will be moving over to v4. I dont really want to make a brand new mod from scratch and nobody buy it. Explain this one a little more though please.

As for the multi-site. It isnt actually a module, it is a complete modification throughout the core code of the site, every link needs to be changed, every form needs to be changed and thats not including the admin panel.

There is also to bear/bare in mind that you have already developed your website. Im not too sure what php code you have changed and also your templates files. Also if you then in the future want to make mods to your site you will have to be competent in how this system works as there are strict rules that will need to be followed throughout the site.

Also there is an issue here with 68 so I will need to speak to the boys first.

The multisite is a way around an old 'martians and aliens' site I have been trying to finish, I have one side done, but the other is a problem. Basically I need to have 2 different user types on login, with only usertype 'M' (not registered users or subscribers) being able to put ads in one part of the site for which which only subscribers can see the detail and contact the advertiser, and (the bit thats done) registered users and subscribers being able to put adverts in the normal part that is open to anyone to view in full. The multisite would only need me to have different registration folders for the

This site is also the one that needs the multiple categories, and its pretty heavily modded (for me), so I will leave it as v.3 until I desperatly need to go to v.4.

Well I am definitely in for the multi site mod..or even just some freelance work to get what I need done, I sent you a PM. I am waiting to hear back from you to decide what I am going to do, being able to manage different sites through one backend/database is an important factor to me and will decide whether I purchase 68classifieds or not.
