Question Just a little help, Please. - 02-26-2007, 07:25 PM

SpeedPony is almost wrapped up, except for one or two changes that need to be made. John is really busy at this time, so I thought I might get some input here.
I have purchased the Maffo banner mod and need to make a couple of changes in my template. I know nothing about html, and I need to add two links in my navigation menu. (First, I have to know how to CHMOD to 777. Read the knowledge base, but it was Greek to me.)
1. Banner Advertising
2. Purchase a Membership
I have figured out Where these go, but don't know the exact code. They also need to link to approriate page.

Also, for anyone out there who has the banner mod, How do you set the rotation? I can't find it anywhere.

I am setting up the banner mod tonight, have done a couple of bits but need to do more.

to chmod you need to change the premissions of the file, I use core to upload mine and just right click on the file tp be changed, then go to properties and change it, or if you have cpanel you can do it through file manager.

If nobody else comes back on the other things I may have some answers when I get it set up.

Edited to say oops, I was typing as Suzkaw posted

Hi you may already have got an answer, if not I installed the mod last night in a test area and all went well.

If you open the banner ad folder there are 2 text files, one you just insert the code on all the .php files that you want the ads to show on (just changing the page number)

The other one gives you step by step how to install it. Banner advertising is automatically set up as a category for you, all you need to do is add categories location 1 etc as a sub category of banner ads.

The purchase membership is just a package set up for the banner ads categories that you added.

The rotation is set by going into modules and at the side of the banner ads module click on admin and within each type you have got set up click on edit, and put a number in the rotation box.
