Oh I'm not interested in manual uploads, I wanted the API integration. Oodle allows single listings to be posted to the server I believe, otherwise they just grab the listings from a properly formatted XML feed, which the current one in 68 isn't, so a new feed file would need to be created that does it in a format that they expect.

Yes, the oodle feed doesn't need to be manually uploaded, you just provide them a link to your feed. Then they visit it and get all ads, ignoring ones they already have. My oodle feed page does this perfectly.

Google, has bulk upload that works in very much the same way, with the exception that you need to upload the xml file each time. They do have an API, but it would be a little more work. The file I have for the feed makes an xml feed which is properly formatted, you can just upload it when you have more listings to submit. It works - but like you said, it might not be very efficient to upload if you get a lot of ads a day. I just submit my new ads once every week or two and it's not really a problem for me. I do intend on making the API if nobody else beats me to it.

John

You could just set up a cron job to run a php script that does the upload for google as well if you didnt want to implement the API.

Just checking if automatic oodle and google feeds are now available.

I am also looking for a developer who can do the same feeds for my other sites. One is www.findlistings.com

Thanks.

Hey Guys,

New rules over at Google, the're always making things more difficult for us developers. My feeds have been all shut down and removed. Below is the email from Google and then from a CSR.

We've reviewed your bulk uploads and need you to make changes. Your bulk uploads have been disapproved due to the reason(s) listed below.

Issues:

1. No purchasing means

-----------------
1. No purchasing means: Google Base requires that your website be e-commerce enabled. For example, you may include a "buy" button and an electronic shopping cart, a PayPal link, or be Google Checkout enabled. Unless your item pages list the product price, and provide a means for users to purchase your products, we will be unable to process your bulk uploads.

After you've made the necessary change(s), please upload new versions of your bulk uploads. We'll notify you if we need you to make any additional corrections. Otherwise, we'll send you an email to let you know that your bulk uploads have been approved.

Sincerely,

The Google Team

This was the response once I got in contact with a real person.

Thank you for your email. In response to your comment, I've taken a look
at the bulk uploads that you've resubmitted to Google Base and it seems
that your website doesn't comply with our policies. Unfortunately, we now
require that your item pages be e-commerce enabled. Therefore, this may
include a "buy" button and an electronic shopping cart, a PayPal link, or
a Google Checkout "buy" button. Unless your item pages list the product
price, and provide a means for users to purchase your products, we will be
unable to process your bulk uploads.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns, and I'm
sorry for the inconvenience.

Sincerely,

The Google Team

Sounds like they don't want classifieds, not very clever, since people might often find what they are looking for via a classifieds ad. I'll bet the policy is in place to reduce scams as well as boost google's payment services. Oh well, there is still oodle, right?

What do you charge for this and can it contain all of my extra fields? I am only interested in Oodle.

I don't have time in my schedule to take on new projects until at least after March.

Yes, the file can easily handle extra fields. If you are comfortable coding php, I can send you a base file and you can change it to work with the specific kind of listings you are going to send to oodle, and then just modify the field ids.

If you are not comfortable working with PHP I can send the file to another developer you find to help reduce the overall cost.
