Default Folder and FIle permissions - 02-17-2007, 02:46 PM

What are the individual folder and file permissions? Is there a document that tells what files or folders should have write access?

Here is a link that describes most of them:

You should also change the permissions on the "uploads" folder. It was added after the documentation was written.

My host has phpSuExec installed on all servers, will this be an issue? I understood that 777 settings are not compatible with phpSuExec.

I think you will be able to get by with 755, but I know the install check won't let you proceed if not 777. Of course I haven't messed with phpSuExec, so I don't know for certain.
