Default how's rackspace? - 02-09-2007, 02:34 AM

I've been looking over your product for the last couple of hours and am very interested. I think I am going to purchase the $30 a month hosted package and had a couple of quick questions.

1. How's rackspace for reliability, customer service, etc.?

2. I don't know much about web development, but how's the bandwidth and storing the ads and whatnot work with them? If your site goes over a certain bandwidth do they have some hidden charges or is the $30 a month a flat-rate guaranteed thing? I'm intending on using this to create a classifieds site for a town of about 20,000 people.

This looks like a great product and I'm surprised at how well it is priced, looking forward to getting started. Thanks for the help!

We have the server with Rackspace and we then resale space to you from it. So you would direct any hosting questions to us. If we go over our bandwith and storage with Rackspace then we will be billed and not you. We only charge you the $30 a month unless you really have tons of traffic and/or you upload tons of files.

We have several customers using the hosted version and have between 1000 and 3000 active listings.

I own a small hosting comapny and can vouch for RackSpace -- Eric has made a good choice. I used to lease servers from them. They are a stable company with a well qualified staff. I don't think you can go wrong with Eric's hosted offering. It's affordable, your site will be managed by the author of the program, and he's backup up by a well respected data center.
