Default Power User - Whos ads never expire

My site has exploded into a MASSIVE project that will have literally 10's of thousands listings.

I need to find a way to have some select users whos ads never expire.

IS this possible?

The reason is I will have basically two types of end users on this site.

1- Regular users who will use he standard features of ad placement.
2 - "POWER" Users whos ads will need to be "permanent" with minimal intervention required in keeping them, live. These are large multinationals with huge catalogs. Once I get all their listings on the site,(another challenge I face) I need to keep them there. Billing them does not need to be automated, I will be billing them annually.

I think that this site will possibly be the largest ever site built using this software, so get used me posting on this site as this has become my full time job. I will try and contribute as much as possible as well as use this site for my own needs.

Im sure there are a few ways something like this could be handled, but I am not sure of the best way. The first thing that comes to mind would be to add a new user group for the power users.

Then create a small script to query the database for ads, checking the expiration date and the user group of the ad owner. If the ad owner is a member of the power user group and the ad is about to expire, have the script set the expiration date of the ad to a date farther in the future.

Have this little utility script run once a day or so at off peak hours via a cron job.
