This is great. I'm trying to do something similar, except I'd like the main category cells be a different background color from the subcats, like this site. (I'm referring to the category drop-down menu on the left.) Their source code looks like this:

Quote:
<dl class="simpleSearch">
<dt class="label">Search:</dt>
<dd><input type="text" name="keyword" value=""></dd>
<dt class="label">Category: </dt>
<dd>
<select name="category_id" class='vertical-input-dd-simplesearch' >
<option value="" selected>Select a Category</option>
<option value="" class="searchSeparator" > </option>
<option value="32" class="searchCategory" >Autos</option>
<option value="37" class="searchSubcategory" >  Motorcycles</option>
<option value="34" class="searchSubcategory" >  New Cars</option>
<option value="33" class="searchSubcategory" >  Used Cars</option>
I think this format looks really clean. Any easy way to set up css for a dropdown menu like this?

Unfortunately this does not work in Internet Explorer.

I have read that some versions of explorer don't like some ways of doing this.

eg: <option style="font-weight: bold"

There are ways of having different degrees of BOLD, but I am using the standard bold which should work in all browsers.

Any ideas as to why this wont work in IE?

Thanks
