Default Changing ad Id into user name

How do you go about changing the ad ID # into the user name so that it would appear as:

example:

http://abc123classifieds.com/viewlisting.php?view=1

to read the seller name instead of what ad number it is.

http://abc123classifieds.com/viewlis...iew=sellername

http://abc123classifieds.com/viewlis...p?view=JohnDoe

or giving them their own url

http://abc123classifieds.com/johndoe

Any suggestions, thanks!

Why not just use the seller store and rewrite it with htaccess?

It'd be simple to do something like domain.com/123456 where 123456 is the member ID - this can be done in htaccess only. Putting the username in place of 123456 is a bit more involved, but if you decide to do it just be sure you triple check how to accept that input so as to avoid sql injection problems.
