Flash player Featured Items on your home page

Lets say that you have 100 featured items and your displaying 20 of them at one time when a guest/potential buyer visits your site.

My question: is there a way that you can setup a flash player or some kind of photo display viewer to keep looping through your 100 featured items to keep your home page fresh with new featured items.

I just would like to keep my register users happy. I am thinking about if it was setup on a 5-10 sec loop.

Sure, just use flash with an XML-backend. If you know Flash there are tutorials around the net for this sort of thing, or you could probably post a project on scriptlance/elance and get it done for cheap. That's how the "currently being watched" box works on Youtube, and it's a relatively simple thing. Use cron and the current external.php (with some modifications to pull featured only) to generate the XML.

Script lance, I will have to look into that. I hope I made sense on what I am looking for, and I did checkout youtube site out when it updates automatically, that looks cool...if you could think of anything else please let me know, thanks!

Unless I'm mistaken, the call for the featured items list selects them at random too. So, if you refresh the home page or another user opens the home page, they will see different ads.
