Ioncube Loader error...

Ok, so I'm getting the Ioncube loader deal on install...

Only the message on mine is:
Site error: the file /hermes/web04/b1578/as.usedtoyotas/classifieds/includes/classes/database/mysql.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_4.3.so to be installed by the site administrator.

The install documentation refers to "The file /home/youraccount/public_html/install/index.php .....".

So, I pointed my browser to the Run-Time Loading Installation Instructions, and the Test Result was "The Loader was not installed.".

So I presume I have to contact my hosting support and point them to point me to my own php.ini solution or ask them to edit the one needed.

Yes ?

Yes, it is always a good idea to have the own php.ini. This way you are independent from the global settings and you can edit the file the way you need it.

so can I just drop a php.ini file in my classifieds root or web root ?

This depends on how your host is setup. Some have a way where you can drop a php.ini file in the directory you want to override. Others only have one php.ini and it is controlled through the host and they would have to make any changes to it.

Ok, so if I were to just try and put a php.ini file in my classifieds directly, what would I be putting in there?

zend_extension = /home/username/ioncube/ioncube_loader_lin_4.3.so

of course th path would need to point to the ioncube folder in your classifieds and the loader name would corrospond to the OS you web host is running.

Tried using my own php.ini in my classifieds directory, didn't help.

Guess I'll just have to wait for my sys admin to respond to my request.

Seems simple enough for them to add one line to the php.ini file.

Does it work if you put the php.ini into the root of your server? Inside a subdirectory it could get ignored (depending on the server configuration).

Just tried it, no good either.

Still waiting on my host admin to implement the change :(

Ok, my host fixed up my php.ini and when I run the run-time loading test tool, it says everything is OK.

An ionCube Loader is already installed and run-time loading is unnecessary. Encoded files should load without problems.

BUT....
When I try to complete my installation, I still get this:
"Site error: the file /hermes/web04/b1578/as.usedtoyotas/classifieds/includes/classes/database/mysql.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_4.3.so to be installed by the site administrator"

Ideas ?
