Upgrading from Designer to Developer - how?

Assuming I backup my modified files (layout.tpl.php, home.tpl.php and style.css) is it then just a case of overwriting everything else?

Yes you can overwrite all the php files on your site with the ones from the developer download. This would include everything except the templates folder and the connections/classifieds.php

Please make sure you do not overwrite the connections file because it contains your license key and database details.

Thanks Eric, I look forward to upgrading tonight.

I have upgraded as you instructed, everything appears to have gone well although my system overview at /administration/index.php shows that I am still running V3.1.5b Designer

Is that normal?

Lhotch 03-03-2007 12:52 PM

That may actually be stored in the database. Did you run the install script and chose "upgrade"?

suzkaw 03-03-2007 12:59 PM

Actually that is coming from the license key. To fix it please login to our customer section and get your new license key. Next open connections/classifieds.php off the server and replace the license key.

On it. . .

michael 03-03-2007 01:12 PM

Uh oh! Now I'm getting a license error!!

"Hash incorrect. Please delete the file license/key.php and reload this page. If that does not work please contact 68 Classifieds for support.
"

Do I actually need to delete that file?

michael 03-03-2007 01:23 PM

You guys! :p

You left me alone to see if I'd have the nerve didn't you? Everythings cool now. :D

suzkaw 03-03-2007 04:16 PM

:) Sorry had to go out for a bit. The key file is generated off the license so it would have to be deleted. ;)
