Default Multiple Listings

How do i configure 68C so that some users can have multiple listings - for example http://www.sell-your-art.co.uk/pages.php?page=19 allows their members to either have a single listing or unlimited listings

i want to offer the store option so it makes sense to let them have the ability to list multiple items

They are probably using version 3.1 which allows the use of memberships. This was taken out of version 4 because of some problems that it caused.

It looks like this link is for a version 3.x site. version 3.x supports memberships which allows that. There is no option for this in version 4.x

As an alternative, you could use coupons instead. This however would mean that you would need to sell the coupon outside of the script.

Will memberships be coming to V4 in the future? You don't expect to lose features when upgrading to a newer version.

Can memberships not be integrated as a plugin or module?

I read a post from maffo mentioning something about a module that he may write up.. but I think he said it would be complicated. You'd have to touch base with him on that. I think it would be a great selling module, but everyone has different opinions on how the memberships should work.

My old classifieds script has memberships with it, but its complicated for the customer. When you complicate things for the customer you lose sales.

bugger bugger bugger bugger - i have been working on the assumption that this is a feature of v4 - the version you see is v3 but - i have been working up a V4 version of the site which i have been want to launch

whilst i appreciate that there may have been technical difficulties of which i have little appreciation i think this severely limits the usefulness of 68C - this means V4 can only usefully be used by individuals - to me having people who can fill your site with larger amounts of content via multiple ads is most attractive to those who would be most likely to use it and even pay for it ie dealers people wanting to shift bulk items - this is a real set back to me and means that i will now have to keep using v3 as version 4 is useless to me - what a waste of time - sorry for the rant

Oh Dear,

I seem to have made a mistake (just signed up for Designer). I need to populate my ads section quickly and have dealers lined up to enter their stock, but no way are they going to do this on an individual basis. Looks like I may have to find an alternative program

These are two completely different things. This post is not referring to bulk uploading. This post is referring to a feature that allowed you to purchased several ad listing included in one package. Typically this gave the customer a discount. Essentially "Pre-paying" for so many ads in advance and then the ads were placed one at a time whenever the user chose to do so within the allotted time duration of the package.

yes i am not really referring to bulk uploading - I am sure Maffo's solution is great if the webmaster intends to do all the ad placements which i would guess be the minority of users - but i may be wrong

- but Mike i think its a little more important than a discount - the script can of course be configured to vary the options of an individual ad placement so a user can pick different packages - thats an attraction for the individual one off user - but for people who sell stuff on a larger scale - these are the folk who are important to capture - they don't want to have to go through the purchase / package selection process over and over again - having the multiple listings ads enormous convenience for this type of user and and yes you can make it more attractive by discounting - to me single listing only = hassle (extra steps) for this type of end user ie those who wants to use your system over and over - repeat / bulk users are who we need to attract in many instances !

back to V3.x i go !!!!!!
