Change captcha

Hi,
I am trying to change the captcha includes/classes/captcha images/words.
I found words.txt and assumed thats where the words were coming from, i changed the the names to what i wanted, saved and uploaded the words.txt
it did not change the words, am i looking in the wrong place? is there something i need to change so it comes from the words.txt?

Change:
$use_dict = 0;
To:
$use_dict = 1;

Hi,
is there any other version you would recomend as the current one is too big, i want a smaller version.

Or is there a way to make it popup or appear below after details have been entered into the fields?
