Price Descriptor to read alphanumeric

Instead of reading numeric numbers in the price descriptor, how do you change it to read alphanumerics? iI people want to put "Free" instead of an number, what do I need to change in the code to make this work?

Do you want all the ads to show "free" or just give people the option to use the words in general?

There is more to makin the price field accept alpha chars than just changing some code. The database column is defined as decimal so to change the code to allow alpha would create new issues that had to be resolved and the current database would need to be converted.

Your best bet would be to change/hide the price if the value is zero at the template level. Something like what was done in this thread.

Are you talking about the Price Descriptor Module? If so, both fields Pre and Post are text fields already.
