Larry, I need to do something about the <meta name="Keywords" and <meta name="Description". They are the same on every single listing. I think this might have something to do with my Google status since only pages with different Keywords and Descriptions are getting indexed. I read that when it Google crawls it omits duplicate webpages based on titles and content. I'm not sure if these two fall into that category however, since everything else is indexed I'm gonna start here. How can I remove the Description and Keywords or replace them with different content generated from the listing.
As always, I owe ya one

Chris-
The keywords and descriptions don't play as big a role as they used to. Content is king, so to speak. In your post, you say: Quote:
You've got the length, manufacturer and make in the url (good). The same is in the title (good). The only other thing I would suggest is to h1 tags around the "title" of the ad (in this case "54' Sea Ray Sundancer 2001") in your blue bar - It puts more emphasis on the content. Also, the closer you get to validating your pages, the better the search engines will like it. |

For Description I am using:

Also in V3.1 you can manually change Keywords and Description for your categories and subcategories from your admin panel.

Thanks, this is great, the reason this is good is because when Google index's you it puts the description from the page in the results, so this way its Product Title then info about the product, the way it is stock it's Product Title - name of the 68 site. I feel users are more likely to click it if they see more information about the url below the title then just the name of the site. Anyway I'll find out in a few days. Thanks for your help

Hi
Is it, that the only way to have different meta Tags for Admin generated pages created through page editor is to creat new individual content pages and link them back into the layout page and delete the old ones. Or is there a quicker way for the short term to get around googles bot picking up the duplicated tags ?. Cheers |
